Polymer Standards Service-USA Inc.
(PSS-USA, Inc.) is the sales and
service partner of Polymer Standards Service GmbH (PSS) in North
America, serving the US, Canada and Latin America customers since 1994.
Polymer Standards Service GmbH (PSS)
is
certified DIN EN ISO 9001 to
produce high quality Reference Polymers, GPC Columns and Software for
the characterization polymers by their molecular weight and their
structural characteristics. PSS employs the latest findings in polymer
science for the synthesis and characterization of polymers, block
copolymers
and
biopolymers. PSS operates manufacturing facility
equipped with a complete state-of-the-art characterization laboratory
at the headquarters in Mainz (Germany), fully supporting customers
working under stringent requirements i.e., GLP, DIN, ISO 9000x
certifications.
Industry Cooperation
PSS works closely with other
product
manufacturers such as Agilent,
Brookhaven, WGE, among others, integrating the products necessary to
place at your service the most comprehensive Gel Permeation
Chromatography re-solutions. PSS also works closely with important
Universities and Research Institutes.
History
PSS GmbH was founded in 1985 by 2
PhD
students at the Physical Chemistry
Department, University of Mainz, producing polymer standards at the
University facilities. The following four years PSS expanded staff and
products including tailor-made polymers, organic and aqueous GPC
columns, GPC software and moved to own facilities located in a Mainz
suburb. To date, PSS has successfully gained leadership in the overall
GPC Market, making innovative contributions not only in Germany, but
around the world, The following few examples illustrate PSS' claim of
leadership: the introduction of 2-dimensional chromatography technique
with dramatically improved resolution and separation efficiency; the
development of WinGPC Unity into the most advanced Macromolecular
Chromatography data system; a history of sustained quality
manufacturing standards and columns and the excellent laboratory where
the biggest challenges of macromolecular analysis are faced daily, to
keep the analytical services growing at a rate of 20% per annum.
PSS-USA
opened its office in Houston, Texas in 1994; moved to Silver
Spring, Maryland, in 1995. From 2003 until 2011, PSS USA operated from Warwick, Rhode
Island. Since November 2011, the USA headquarters has moved to its largest facility in Amherst, Massachusetts.
