PSS e-book Series part 1: GPC/SEC Theory and Practice

Since 2007 PSS has published GPC/SEC Tips & Tricks in LC/GCs digital magazine “The Column”. Many readers collect these publications and have approached us to create a compendium with all the information published in more than 60 editions in over 10 years.

To have all published topics at-a-glance, PSS decided to create a series of five different e-books

  •  GPC/SEC Theory and Background
  •  GPC/SEC Columns
  • GPC/SEC Detection
  • GPC/SEC Troubleshooting
  • GPC/SEC Applications

Each book is based on 5-7 different Tips & Tricks publications updated with the latest information, new examples and figures. In addition links to other PSS resources were added, which provide more information to this aspect.

Pullulan ReadyCal Kits for GPC/SEC calibration

The calibration of a GPC/SEC-system is a time-consuming process as it requires the accurate weighing of a larger number of different molar mass reference materials for every single calibration. PSS ReadyCals allow for the rapid preparation of reproducible calibration curves without the inconvenience of individually weighing the standards. Just add solvent directly to the ReadyCal autosampler vials filled with a pre-weighed mixture of high quality reference materials with precise concentrations and molar masses.

New in the PSS ReadyCal family are the Pullulan ReadyCals:

• Reference Material: Pullulan

• Application: Calibration of aqueous GPC/SEC systems

• Sets:

Standard: 3 x 5 Vials-1.5ml, Mp 180 – 708 000 Da (11 standards)

or

High 3 x 5 Vials-1.5ml, Mp 180 – 1 220 000 Da (12 standards)

The kits can be used for conventional and for universal calibration (on-line viscometry). The concentrations are also optimized triple detection.
