Aqueous Gel
Filtration Chromatography
PSS produces
many water soluble, highly characterized molecular weight standards
to calibrate the Gel
Filtration Chromatography.measurements,
given that both molecular weight and three dimensional shape
contribute to the degree of retention.
The following polymer
standards are available for aqueous applications

Polyethylene
glycol is commonly used as a calibrant in aqueous
applications. It is also used as a reactive ingredient for
PEGylation, an approach for protein modification (preparation of
protein-PEG conjugates).
Covalent attachment of poly(ethylene glycol) (PEG) to proteins produces
conjugates with altered/improved physicochemical and biological
properties which depend upon the number of PEG chains linked.(*)

(polysaccharide
standard) in conjunction with PEG to assist in
the quantitative analysis pf PEG in PEG-modified proteins
PSS produces three different
stationary phases for GFC, that are packed in columns
suitable for
any commercial liquid chromatograph. GFCis used
in Biotechnology applications (proteins, peptides,
oligonucleotides. etc), for analysis of
molecular size, for separations of components in a mixture, or for salt
removal or buffer exchange from a preparation of marcromolecules.
